This was an audiobook that I got from the library to listen to while I work on Christmas projects. I have been trying to decide if the reason that I didn’t like the book was because I didn’t really like the reader or because the book itself wasn’t that great. I am kind of a snob when it comes to listening to audiobooks. If I don’t like the reader I will not listen. It just ruins the book for me. I think my dislike of this book had a lot to do with this. It was the only audiobook I had at the moment and I needed something to listen to so I listened despite my aversion to the reader. Whether the story itself or the reader, I found the characters pretty unlikeable. The heroine acted like an immature 17-year old showing no wisdom in throwing herself into danger, she was actually 24. The hero was overbearing and not in a good Mr. Darcy-like manner. Her parents were pretty clueless. Overall is was an okay book that I did not particularly enjoy but that helped pass time while I was working on other projects.
