This book has been on my now reading list for at least a year. I would read a chapter or two and then set it aside for another book that had caught my fancy. Recently I decided that this was going to be the book that I was reading before any others. I have to many books that I want to read and to many books that I try to read at the same time that I never really give my full attention to any of them. That should be a new reading goal for myself; to read one book at a time.

Persuasion was my first book by Jane Austen read. I love all of the movies based on her books and have always wanted to read the novels but hadn’t taken the time. Of the movies Persuasion was my favorite and I was not disappointed by the book. I think it is my favorite because I relate a lot to the main character Anne. I could easily see myself listening to the council of family and being persuaded to delay a match. Anne has so many quiet qualities that are often unappreciated but nonetheless virtues to be admired.
