Stepping Heavenward is a classic. I would recommend it to any girl or woman of Christian faith. This book is one of the few works of fiction that I can say has truly impacted my walk with Christ. It is also one of the few books in diary format that I have really loved. This was my second read through the book and I have gained just as much if not more insight from this old friend.

The book chronicles the life of a woman of faith beginning with her teenage years. When she begins the journal she is a selfish impulsive girl. As each entry comes you see her grow more and more in her walk with God and love for him.

While the woman herself often could not see her progress we are able to see her become more and more Christlike. When we look at ourselves we may not see the growth in our own lives, but God does. He promises that when we seek him we will find him when we seek him with all of our hearts. When we follow him, he reveals himself to us in greater and greater measure. Walking with God is not easy, but it is a rewarding and hope-filled journey.
