Book: Epic
Author: John Eldredge
Published: 2004
Genre: Christian Life
Finished: February 24, 2008

One of the author’s I love to read is John Eldredge. He wrote Wild at Heart and Captivating (along with his wife Stasi). While I have not yet read Wild at Heart - it is lent out to a friend - I have read Captivating and it is an excellent book. Epic was also a great book. It is a short book about the story that God is telling and our role in that story. We are living in the grand epic that God has written. And the end is good. I especially loved the illustrations drawn from movies like Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Braveheart, Chronicles of Narnia, and more.

Book: Behind Rebel Lines
Author: Seymour Reit
Published: 1988
Genre: Biography
Finished: February 8, 2008

I only now realized that I had finished this book and never written a review for it. So here it is. Better late than never. This book is a true story about a Civil War spy named Emma Edmonds. It is a short book and an action packed read. I love reading stories about women who stand up and in this case literally fight for what they believe in. It is a captivating book and Emma’s spunk will enchant. An excellent book.

1. I’m thankful for God confronting me with my sin through various ways this past week. Especially through our Pastor, Beth Moore, and even the radio. I need to act on the word and not just listen to it.

2. I am thankful for pastor’s and leader’s who aren’t afraid to call sin what it is and confront people with what they are really doing, putting on their old stinky rags.

3. I am also thankful for my Bible Study gals. They have been such an encouragement in that we can talk and discuss questions and learn from each other. Where would I be without those gals?

4. Christ who never is content to let me stay the same but wants be to become who he knows I will become.

5. That I am a daughter of the King of kings.
