Thankful Thursday

1. LOST has returned! I’m really looking forward to this season. I don’t watch it on TV but download it from the Internet so I won’t see it until sometime tomorrow but I am still super excited!

2. Books… I’ve probably said this before, but I love books! So many good stories and helpful advice. Barnes and Nobles IS my favorite store. LOL.

3. My hamster Zoe. I love animals and even when she is waking me up in the middle of the night I still love her.

4. Feeling on top of projects for the most part. I think having my Inbox empty helps a lot.

5. Family. It is worth saying that my family is very important to me. Even when my little sister has been bugging me all day. You’ve got to love them.

You Are a Realist

You don’t see the glass as half empty or half full. You see what’s exactly in the glass. You never try to make a bad situation seem better than it is… But you also never sabotage any good things you have going on. You are brutally honest in your assessments of situations – and this always seems to help you cope.

Are You An Optimist or Pessimist?

All twelve blocks for my purple quilt! Arranged in no particular order. When I get the blocks for my other two quilts finished I will work on completing the quilts. So exciting!

Here are the quilt blocks from weeks 11 & 12. Wow! Twelve weeks went so fast! Tomorrow I will post a pic of all the blocks together.

Weeks 9 & 10 completed for my purple quilt-a-long quilt.

Saturday Links

If you haven’t read any of the books about Amelia Peabody by Elizabeth Peters you should. Actually you should find the audio versions read by Barbara Rosenblat. She really brings the characters to life in such an amusing way. I’ve been requesting the audio books from paperback swap and listening to them while I craft. Great stories!

http://www.albertmohler.com/

Albert Mohler’s blog is another blog on my feed list. He has some really in depth articles – you can’t really call them posts – on current issues of the day from a Christian viewpoint. Very informative. I’ve also been surprised how many other blog posts will quote his articles and add their own take on the issue.

This quilted wallet is a must add to your list of projects to do. Who doesn’t need a new wallet? And this wallet looks like it would be a pretty quick sew. Now what fabric to use? *starts to dig in fabric stash*

http://www.patternrescue.com/

I found Pattern Rescue from a blog post by Stacy over at Stacy Sews. Its great! You can request 3 vintage patterns a month and all they ask is that you donate for the shipping. Great service! I requested three patterns already.

Blossum.nu has so much great content for your website. I could spend all day browsing the content. The blog is fun to read as well.

You Can Hang With the Guys and the Girls

You’ve struck a good balance between girlie and laid back.
You can keep it casual but when you dress up, you are as girly as the next girl.

How Feminine Are You?

Thankful Thursday

1. I’m thankful for pets that bring joy to our lives. Pictured above is Nemo our crazy indoor cat. We also have two outdoor cats and two dogs – Lexi and Bandit. I love those fuzzy, furry, guys. I almost forgot my hamster Zoe as well.

2. Lost Timber the awesome Bible camp I’ve been involved with most of my life. My home away from home. My summer ministry. The greatest place ever. I’m looking forward to it 10 months of the year.

3. Beth Moore Bible studies! We started her newest one tonight called Stepping Up. It is a 7-week study on the Psalms of ascent – Psalms 120 to 134. I think this study is going to be very challenging to me in getting out of my comfort zone and going farther with God.

4. I am thankful that letters are still used in communication. While email is quick and easy nothing beats a hand written letter from someone you love.

5. That messes are able to be cleaned up. If I had to live with the mess I make when working on a project like the quilt-a-long I think I would go crazy. LOL. It is time to clean up the mess.
